A lot of stores are saying 'July or beyond' (NOOOOO!!!) but HMV says the release date is May 24. But if you know of an earlier date in Australia, PLEASE

May 18: MTV air TRL featuring the Boys on a massive screen overlooking Times Square New York. Headsets are distributed to the crowd so fans can hear the excitement.

The wait is over for the best book on the planet - "The Heart And Soul Of Nick Carter", written by Nick's mum Jane, is being released in Australia in mid May - So not only will we have the new album to keep us happy, but a good book to read while listening to it!

The third BSB album "Millennium" is being released worldwide on 18th May.

Got Milk?
Our fave boys have been some of the newest editions to the well known milk 'publicity stunt' - "Got Milk?". The BSB appear on one of the glossy ads (seen in YM magazine). By being a feature in this ad, they join other stars who have gone for the milk moustache thing, such as Hanson, and other celebs like Neve Campbell, X-Files and many international supermodels.

New Album
The Backstreet boys have announced that they are releasing their third eagerly awaited album in early April, all around the world, much to the delight of their fans.
According to
big hit!, the songs so far recorded for the album include: Who Do You Love (main vocals by AJ and Brian); By My Side (main vocals by Nick, AJ and Kevin); I Need You Tonight (lead vocals by Nick); Show Me The Meaning (main vocals by Brian and AJ); My Heart Stays with You (lead vocals by Howie); I'll Be The One (vocals by all)The first single is being released late January, early February. The title of the album is not known yet - but check out Backstreet.net's list of name suggestions submitted by fans, and maybe add one yourself!

The Backstreet Boys Are Not Breaking Up!
For a few months now there have been rumours going around that the BSB's are breaking up! IGNORE THE RUMOURS!!! The Backstreet Boys announced themselves that they were definitely not breaking up and were not even thinking about it. The following was taken from TV Hits,
October 1998 issue.'Backstreet Boys fans all over the world freaked out when they heard rumours that the group was splitting up. The news spread from German television through to the UK tabloids and then into the TV HITS office! As a result, the BSBs released the following statement:
"We want our fans to know that we are absolutely not splitting up, these rumours are 100 per cent false. Our plans are to finish up our North American tour and then head straight into the studio to finish our new album. We couldn't be happier with our success and the dedication of our fans who have been there since the beginning."
To thank their fans, the guys are releasing a special limited edition home video of an intimate performance filmed earlier this year!'

Caroline Cochrane
On the
12th September, Howie D's sister Caroline passed away. She had been fighting with an immune system disease called Lupus, but sadly lost her battle with it. It was shocking to not only Howie and his family, but also to the rest of the Backstreet Boys and fans all around the world. Our hearts go out to everyone who was affected by Caroline's death, especially to her family.
